  1. Takviyeye başlamadan önce

    Takviye kabloları bağlanırken iki aracın motoru da kapalı olmalı. Akülerin voltajı aynı olmalı (12 V ile 12 V). Göz koruması ve eldiven takılmalı. Donmuş aküye (ve Kia'ya göre elektrolit seviyesi düşük aküye) takviye yapılmaz. Araç kılavuzunda ayrı bir takviye noktası ya da yasak varsa ona uyulur.

  2. Takviye kablosu takma sırası

    Kırmızı kablo iki akünün artı kutbunu birleştirir. Siyah kablo önce dolu akünün eksisine, son olarak boş araçta aküden uzak, boyasız bir metal noktaya (motor bloğu veya şasi) takılır. Kırmızı kablonun hangi ucunun önce takılacağı üreticiye göre değişir; araç kılavuzu esas alınır.

    5. Exide, Flooded batteries talimatıJUMP STARTING FOR CARS. It is not a recommended procedure. If it is deemed essential, follow the instructions in the car manual.

  5. Takviyede son siyah maşa neden şasiye takılır

    Son siyah maşa boş akünün eksi kutbuna değil, aküden uzak bir şasi/motor bloğu noktasına takılır. Son bağlantıda çıkan kıvılcım aküden çıkan hidrojeni tutuşturmasın diye böyle yapılır.

  7. Yanlış takviye sırasının riski

    Sıranın amacı, son bağlantıda çıkan kıvılcımın akünün yanında oluşmasını ve kısa devreyi önlemektir; kıvılcım aküden çıkan hidrojeni tutuşturabilir. Yanlış bağlantı araç elektriğine anında zarar verebilir; kablolar sökülürken oluşan gerilim sıçramaları da elektroniğe zarar verebilir.

  9. takviye kablosu

  14. akü değişimi

    Akü değiştirildikten sonra kutup bağlantıları belirtilen torkta sıkılır, akü tespit braketiyle sabitlenir; saat ve radyo ayarları sıfırlanabilir. Akü sensörlü araçlarda değişim araca tanıtılır.
